At Mastro Subaru of Orlando, we're thrilled and honored to be considered one of the leading destinations for Subaru service in Sanford. As a vehicle owner, it's important to keep up with routine maintenance, and our service center offers you highly-trained technicians that can help you keep your vehicle running for years to come.

It's important for vehicle owners to pay attention to the different parts of their vehicle, but especially the battery. The battery supplies the necessary current to the starter motor and ignition system to get the engine going, so being mindful of its condition is imperative. Make sure that the connections are clean, tight, and corrosion-free. Unfortunately, car batteries don't always give warning signs before they fail so it's a good rule of thumb to replace the battery every three years.

If you need a new car battery or simply a battery check for peace of mind, call (888) 887-2516 to schedule an appointment at Mastro Subaru of Orlando today!

If you turn the key, but the engine doesn't start, here's what to do:

  • Take out your jumper cables
  • Find a good Samaritan who is willing to help you with the jump
  • Put both cars in "park" or "neutral" with their ignitions turned off and emergency brakes on
  • Remove the caps from each vehicle's battery and connect the cables
  • Attach one red clip to the positive terminal on your vehicle's battery, and attach the other to the positive terminal on the other car's battery
  • Attach one black clip to the negative terminal on the other car's battery, and attach the other to an unpainted, metal surface on your vehicle-away from the carburetor or the battery
  • Start your vehicle

If after all of these steps, your vehicle still won't start, it's time for a battery replacement. Our service staff can help you find the right battery for your specific Subaru model, and can even handle the battery installation so you don't have to worry.
